Who are we?
Speech Therapy Somerset is led by Sara Plowright, a highly qualified Speech & Language Therapist who has enjoyed the last 25 years working with children and adults who have speech, language and communication needs.
Sara has extensive experience, including working at Great Ormond Street Hospital, being Head of Department for a Hearing Implant Service, and Clinical Lead for a team of Specialist NHS Speech & Language Therapists working in the field of hearing loss.
What do we do?
Communication is an essential skill for all of us, but it is also the most complex skill that children need to learn in their early years.
Some children experience difficulties when they are learning to talk, and they need support to become confident communicators.
Children with communication difficulties struggle to express themselves and participate in daily life, often feeling frustrated and experiencing poor self esteem.
Speech and Language Therapists have specialist skills and we work closely with you and your child to break down barriers to communication.
